The technique can be practised individually or in a group.  If group meditation is possible, the results will be still more powerful.  It should always be done on an empty stomach.  The following are the steps for the practice of this wonderful technique.

FIRST STAGE:

TEN MINUTES OF FAST,  DEEP BREATHING

Begin in a standing posture.  The eyes should be closed and if available a blindfold can be used.  Very lightweight minimum clothing should be worn.  Let the body be as relaxed as possible.  Then begin with deep, fast chaotic breathing- as deep and as fast as possible, through the nose.  Go on breathing intensely for ten minutes.  Do not stop and be total in it.  If the body wants to move while you are breathing, let it assume any postures it wishes.  Co-operate with your body completely.  But in the first stage the emphasis is on deep, fast chaotic breathing as it is this breathing that awakens the inner Cosmic energy.  Become just a dynamo of breathing-a breathing machine.  Be in a total let-go.  Let the body vibrate and react.  Do not let the mind interfere with the process.

 SECOND STAGE:

TEN MINUTES OF CATHARSIS AND TOTAL COOPERATION WITH REACTIONS

In the second stage the emphasis is on catharsis and let-go.  Cooperate completely with any  reactions that come.  Let whatever happens just happen.  Do not try to control or suppress.  If you feel like weeping, weep, if you feel like dancing, dance.  Or laugh, shout, scream, Jump, roll, shake, as you feel.  The body may go into spontaneous asanas or mudras, it may shake or tremble or any sort of emotional reactions may come.  Just throw the inner accumulation into the air.  If you feel to continue the breathing in this stage then do so, but if the reactions are strong then drop the breathing and just cooperate with them.  Be a witness to the cathartic process.  Now you are not the doer.  Soon you will feel that you are not the body but something apart.  The body has become just an automata.

THIRD STAGE:

 TEN MINUTES OF SHOUTING “HOO-HOO-HOO”

“Hoo” is an old Sufi mantra.  In the third stage begin shouting “hoo-hoo-hoo” on the outbreath, loudly and forcefully.  The second stage arises naturally out of the first and third out of the second.  Let the repetition of “hoo” come as intensely as possible.  Do it with your totality.  This forceful repetition strikes at the root charka (Centre) at the base of the spine, the sex center, where the storehouse of Cosmic energy lies dormant.  Do not worry about feeling exhausted.  If you practice with your totality, this latent reservoir of energy will be awakened as you go on.  You begin to feel very light.  Go on repeating “hoo” for ten minutes and let the body continue to do whatsoever it likes.  Cooperate completely with it.  If it falls down let it.  Do not try to control.  Just go on shouting “hoo”

 FOURTH STAGE:

TEN MINUTES OF DEEP,TOTAL RELAXATION AND EMPTINESS

Now just let the body drop into a lying position of any kind and relax completely.  Let the inner energy work, and be completely still.  Now stillness, silence and thoughtlessness come naturally.  Just be aware of whatever happens.  Let the Divine enter you and the grace flow.  Now you are totally relaxed and it is easy.  The tensions of body, emotions and mind have been completely exhausted.  They are no more; the ego is no more.  Only the Divine is.  Experience the deep bliss of it’ let this new transforming energy over flood you.  Just be a silent witness to the grace.  Experience total consciousness, pure awareness and the deep ecstatic bliss of it.

Those who like can prolong the last stage, which is the stage of deep meditation for a longer period, either continuing to lie down or shifting to a sitting posture, as they prefer.  If practiced daily, a natural feeling to meditate quietly will come at other times of the day.  Then quiet meditation can be done effortlessly and spontaneously.  A transformation of one’s entire life, for twenty four hours a day, will result.
