Principles of Naturopathy

1.  There is one and only one cause of all diseases: The accumulation of toxic and foreign substance in the body i.e. toxaemia. Wrong, improper or misguided ways of life cause the production of large amounts of toxic substances in the body.

2.  The body in the process of getting rid of poisonous substances produce fever, swelling, pain and various other symptoms. Therefore, we may conclude “acute disease is merely a manifestation of the natural healing processes in the Body”.

3.  Modern Science attributes the causation of diseases to bacteria, Viruses, fungi and other micro-organism.

These are two types of micro-organisms.

(a).    Saprophytic micro-orgasms – that live on dead or non-living organic matter. Ninety eight percent of the micro-organisms on earth are classified in this group. These are sweepers and cleaners of Nature. They transform dead organic matter in the soil into substance. That  are essential for the growth of plants. Plants are main source of nutrients directly or indirectly for all living organisms. In their absence, all plants and animals would be destroyed.

(b).    Parasitic micro-organism that live on nutrients obtained from living animals or plants. These constitute 2% of the micro-organisms of the parasitic type. Their metabolic activities produce toxic substances in the bodies of other animals. These give rise to various diseases.

4.     Dr. Herbert Shelton states

“Bacteria do not cause diseases, but on the contrary, it is only in diseased and toxic surroundings that they can carry on their toxic activities.

5.        Experiments were conducted by the Naturopathic Doctors,

(i)       Dr. Hunter’s experiments in Australia by taking germs.

(ii)    Experiments by Six doctors in 1916 in Canada in which germs of tuberculosis were given.

(iii)    Dr. Patinkoffer of Vienna University, who created sensation among his students by drinking in their presence in the laboratory, a glass containing millions of cholera germs.

(iv)   Dr. Thomas Powel of California, who lived to the ripe age of eighty challenged doctors. Germs of Cholera, plague and other diseases were given to him in his food, injected into his veins, applied to his throat after scraping its mucous membrane; but Doctor Powel did not contract any of these diseases.

The gist of the above discussions.

Naturopathy does not attribute diseases to germs.

It requires only twenty minutes for one bacteria to grow and divide into two. In eight hour one bacteria will grow 16 million and in twenty four hours to more than 5 billion. Such phenomenal growth never occurs even though there is enough of such wastes and poisons in the body of each person. To destroy the germs by poisoning them with antibiotics, instead of attacking the root cause of diseases, namely, the accumulated poisons in the body will prove short-lived remedy only.

          An educated person may argue

(i).     If germs do not cause diseases, how does an epidemic spread so

quickly?

(ii).    If germs really assist Nature in eliminating toxic substances from

body, why do people die of disease?

(iii).   Why is the condition of the Patient found to improve after the administration of antibiotics?

Note that the acute disease thus suppressed, turns chronic.

6.           It is the nature that heals, not the physician or the medicines.
